Go paperless...

at least at the bank.  

I just signed us up for paperless bank statements.  Now we'll get electronic notice that our bank account information is viewable and paper won't need to be wasted on printing the statements.  Plus, the banks keep all the statements electronically on file for 18 months.  Here's another way to look at it...if every household took advantage of online bank statements, the money saved could send 17,000 recent high school graduates to college.  When you look at it that way, printed bank statements seem like a huge waste of resources

Also, don't forget to decline ATM receipts.  We've been doing this one for a while.  ATM receipts are one of the top sources of liter on the planet.  I often see people take them from the machine and directly put them in the garbage.  Why not just decline them and not take a receipt at all?
