Dragon Boats

Being that the Rose Festival is one of the biggest events in Portland, we figured we better participate in some way. We decided last night that we were going to go downtown to check out the dragon boat races near the Hawthorne Bridge. We have a couple friends who actually race in one of the boats, but we didn't get to see them compete. For the half hour or so we watched the races, it poured with rain. Of course, both times we were at the car (arriving and leaving), it was nice blue skies. This was the closest race we saw, with three boats finishing very close to each other.
